Taloyoak is located in the heart of the Northwest Passage. In fact, 80 km (50 mi.) away is the wreck of the 'Victory' ship sailed by explorers, preserved because of the climate here! Arrange for wildlife viewings through locals, who know where the hot spots are.

This is also a sport fisher's paradise, with giant lake trout and arctic char in abundance. Taloyoak is home of the famous and unique Spence Bay Packing Dolls, which are hand-sewn in the shape of northern animals dressed in northern clothing. Each one 'packs' a baby peeking out of its hood. These dolls are sold worldwide, and many locals work on producing them.
